I hope you all have had a good summer.

Sunday, 12 April 2015

O'h my, time is passing me by.
No post last Wednesday due to me forgetting!
I think from now on it's best if I post when I can,
then I won't feel so guilty when I'm not able to
post on time.

I hope you had a good Easter break .
Mine was spent working, walking, with lots of eating
in-between.

Although Christmas has long gone in terms of greeting cards

Jennifer Orken Lewis

Good morning.

For this weeks post I'm sharing a few of my favourite
paintings by Artist Jennifer Orkin Lewis.

She paints mainly with gouache paints and fills up many
art journals. I'm favouring watercolour at present, but
having been influenced by Jennifer's work, I just might
buy some more gouache for my next project.

To see more of her work  you can go to her pinterest
page here.

Hello, is as much as I have for this mid-week post.

I haven't prepared anything and that's just how it
is sometimes when it's just you at the helm.

I am busy finishing off my 2015 Christmas card range
for Sunday's deadline. Quite enjoying it...

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

Here is a little peak of some sketches for the new card range
called 'Pen and Ink.' The new range will be ready to order
from the 10th February.

I hope you are all having a good week, despite the dreary
weather. "Spring is just around the corner," my morning
mantra at the moment...

Screen printing in a box

Just before Christmas I went into one of my
favourite shops in Hastings called
'Robert's Rummage' a great second hand shop.

I was looking for a Christmas present and was
shown this box which I immediately fell in love
with. Then I opened it up and fell in love the contents.
A working portable screen printer.

I felt very lucky that day.

Good morning.

The New Year is upon us and I'm working hard
to bring you two new card ranges and two
notecard packs which will be launched at the
beginning of February.

I will also be producing prints. At this point in
time I'm not sure when these will be ready,
but I'll keep you updated.

Glasgow & Edinburgh

 Wallpaper by Timorous Beasties

Train ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh

 Bright lights of Edinburgh

Last Wednesday I went to Glasgow for the first time.
A great city with lots going on and very friendly people.
I managed to see quite a lot in the two days I was there.
One of the highlights for me was visiting the Hunterian

I then made my annual Christmas trip to Edinburgh to see
'Edinburgh's Got Soul'. A great performance from the choir
with guest artist Sharlene Hector. My this choir has really
grown in three years!

Q & A with Angela Maynard of Botany

Angela

I first met Angela-the owner of Hackney lifestyle store Botany in February.

Angela has been a keen collector of flowers since her early teens and having
always wanted a creative space for designers and makers, she opened Botany
this year on Mother's day.

Along with flowers and cacti the shop sells many beautiful gifts and greeting cards-
mine included.

If you're along the Chatsworth Road pop in and have a look around-Botany is well
worth the visit.

Hello

Today I have posted a few furnishing photos
of our apartment from our Budapaest visit in
September. I wanted to sketch these while I
was over there, but didn't find the time.
I am looking into designing a card range using
found objects around the home. I'll let you
know on my progress...
